Hong Kong Trip

Hong Kong here we come!!!

On the 2nd day (after we landed & rested in The Cityview Hotel) we went to Stanley Market & the PEAK. Of course visited the famous wax museum in Hong Kong – Madam Tussaud. I’m standing on the same platform as Marilyn Monroe.

On the 3rd day we went to Macau. I really don’t like it! The journey from Hong Kong to Macau and back is torturing!!! I was sea sick all the way! Not fun!

We went to Disneyland on the last 2 days of our stay in Hong Kong!!! I like it VERY MUCH!!! See! I get to take photo with Minnie Mouse!!! My favorite part of the whole trip!

Mummy thought it would be fun to play the Chinese custom - “抓周”. Guess what I picked first? The $1 coin of course!!! Am I going to be rich someday?!!! Mummy said YES!

Chinese New Year

To be exact, this is the 2nd Chinese New Year (CNY) that I’m having. I had my 1st CNY when I was 4 days old!

I wore a Korea costume that Mummy bought for me on the 1st day of CNY and I wore the cheongsam that my 外婆 bought for me on the 2nd day.

I must say I don’t really enjoy this CNY. I don’t like the visitations at all. I don’t like unfamiliar people to touch me and worst of all, I missed my usual nap time!!! So I am super whinny and clingy to Mummy…

But I do have a new experience this CNY. After seeing me so unhappy for the reunion and the 1st day of CNY, Daddy & Mummy decided to bring me for a swim for the 1st time in my life!!!

See my magnificent float! Haha… I love it! It’s a fun water experience. A tiny bit of FUN during this festive season!

Just a month before I turn 1~

Taken in early January 2009. I’m finally into the 11th month. Just a month before I turn 1! I am concern about oral hygiene already! Mummy, I want my own toothbrush!!! I love brushing my teeth with Daddy every weekend morning! (Cos on weekday, Daddy is already working by the time I wake up)

Just a short update. I can walk pretty well with support! Thanks to my walker! I am going to start walking on my own in no time!!!

First Christmas!!!

Yeah!!! First Christmas in my life! It’s so great to have so many presents under the Christmas tree at home! Daddy & Mummy said all the prezies are mine!!! Hip Hip Hurray!!! And my favorite is the rocking horse!!!

My fringe grew so long when I’m 5 months. 外婆 did a trim for me because she said the fringe is irritating my eyes… Ever since that trim… my fringe din really grow much after that trim…

Yeah… 6months old finally! I tasted the next wonderful thing to breast milk –> Rice cereal! Yummy Yummy…

Mummy: “Yup… Jaelyn starts flipping over at 4months. Once she mastered the skill, she does that almost all the time we put her down on the bed! Her first achievement from just lying on the bed to flipping over!!! We are so proud of our princess!!!”

Falling sick…

During the 3rd month, Mummy brought me to Dr. Y Y Yip for my vaccination. I have 2 injections that day… One on the left thigh and another on the right. I was given the 5-in-1, Pneumococcal vaccination and Rotavirus vaccine (which is taken orally). I was a bit feverish after the vaccination and that was the first time I’m sick (9 May 2008). Mummy felt so bad that she allowed the doctor to give me so many vaccine on the same day and she was even reprimanded by my 外婆.

Oh… I didn’t cry when I had the 5-in-1 jab, it’s the Pneumococcal jab that was painful and I can’t help but to let out a cry! I’m quite a strong girl huh!

My feverish look…

I fell sick again on 5 June 2008. First time I’m down with flu… I felt horrible… 2 days later, I got high fever of 39 Degree Celsius… Daddy & Mummy quickly brought me to Thompson Medical to see doctor. I slowly recovered and I fought the first time against flu virus!

The First Few Months

Pictures taken when I’m into my 2nd and 3rd month before Mummy went back to work.

Mummy went back to work just before I turn 3 months old. And she took pictures of me waiting for her to get ready to go to 外婆house while Mummy goes to work. So this form my daily weekday routine… Mummy will send me to 外婆 house before she goes to work and will pick me up with Daddy to go back our Punggol house after work. I travelled everywhere in taxi! I think I have just contributed to the income growth of taxi driver.

The First Month

The first month is a challenge to all of us – Daddy, Mummy & Me…

I have to learn how to adapt to a totally new environment. I sleep pretty well in the day but I just don’t want to go to bed at night… I want to be carried!!! And that’s a nightmare to Mummy… keke… But it’s definitely more fun to be out here in the world than just inside the tummy… I just have to learn to differentiate between day and night.

See! It’s very pinky!!! Just like Mummy!!! Oh… the bean sprout pillows are handmade by my 外婆! It’s a whole filled with love!!! :)

And finally my Full Month celebration! Mummy can’t bear to shave all my hair off… so I had a simple trim for customary sake.

Jaundice Experience

The pediatrician told Mummy I was slightly yellow but they still allow me to go home as it was not so serious.

However, when I went back for check up the following Monday, Dr. Terence Tan said that the jaundice level is on the high side and he gave Daddy Mummy the option of renting the “Phototherapy” machine home instead of hospitalization.

I am supposed to be in this “Phototherapy” machine all the time except for bathing and feeding…

I cried the moment I have to be put in that machine because I feel uncomfortable and insecure. Every time I cried, Mummy cried as well… It was not fun at all…

Thank God, my jaundice cleared after 2 days in that yucky machine and I can get back to my favorite rocker again!!!

Coming Home for the 1st Time

I came back home on the 6 February 2008. The eve of Chinese New Year! My maternal granny put me in my first rocker and has been my favorite ever since then… Thanks to Auntie Zhiping, Auntie Xiaowei & Auntie Wanling!

Yup… Mummy finally decided to start a blog for me to re-count the events of my life since Day 1.

So it began on a lovely Monday when Mummy was just going for her normal gynae visit but I just don’t want to wait any longer. So here I come…

A brief introduction of myself. My name is Chua Xin Yi Jaelyn (蔡欣怡). I weigh 2.985kg at birth. And I was born at 1750 on 4 February 2008 at Mt. Alvernia.
